Carla Hansen
Creative Director & Founder
Like many creatives, Carla didn’t initially plan on a career
in design—her artistic path emerged organically. Although
she had always been captivated by interiors, she first
pursued a more conventional route in law. It was during
her first maternity leave that her passion for creativity
truly took hold, prompting her to leave her legal studies
behind and focus on honing the skills necessary to design
professionally. Over the past eight years, Carla has
cultivated her distinctive artistic voice and earned a
reputation as a tastemaker, celebrated for her effortlessly
sophisticated style that seamlessly blends modern
sensibilities with the timeless elegance of the past.

Contact: Juliette@patternandsupply.comOur women-led sustainable home decor business offers a unique approach to interior design. By repurposing existing materials and products, we're looking to significantly reduce the demand for fast furniture and decor. Unlike mass-produced, on trend and fleeting options, we focus on sourcing and highlighting high-quality, timeless pieces that are designed to last.
Our core value proposition centers around:
1. Reducing Landfill Waste:
We focus on repurposing and upcycling materials that would otherwise contribute to landfill waste. By reimagining preexisting decor, we breathe new life into these items, diverting them from landfills and reducing environmental impact.
2. Sustainable and Ethical Sourcing:
Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond just upcycling. We carefully source materials that align with eco-friendly practices, from reclaimed wood to sustainably sourced fabrics, ensuring that every product is not only beautiful but also responsibly made.
3. Supporting Other Small Sustainable Businesses:
We actively collaborate with other small, eco-conscious businesses, amplifying their efforts and fostering a strong community of like-minded creators. This creates a positive ripple effect in the sustainable industry, empowering other small businesses and promoting ethical consumption.
4. Unique, One-of-a-Kind Products:
Each piece we offer is unique, adding character and history to your home. Unlike fast furniture that lacks personality and often falls apart over time, our products are carefully crafted, ensuring longevity and timeless style.
5. Helping Consumers Make Conscious Choices:
We aim to inspire consumers to make better decisions by providing alternatives to cheap, mass-produced decor. By choosing our products, customers are making a tangible difference in reducing their carbon footprint, supporting sustainability, and contributing to a circular economy.
Our business stands out because we offer style without compromise, creating decor that’s not only beautiful and functional but also responsible. We're proud to help customers make meaningful choices for their homes and the planet, one sustainable piece at a time.
